George Whitfield lived from 1714-1770. He was and evangelist preacher in Great Britten and North America. He was part of a Christian revival known as the great awakening. He preached around 18,000 sermons, reaching about ten million people. After prayerful consideration of several other accounts of George Whitfield, I decided to go with Reverend L. Tyerman’s 2-volume account, even though Tyerman was born 50 years after Whitfield’s death. Tyerman has written other large biographies, and he uses an extensive amount of quotes. There are other biographies written by eyewitnesses, but they didn’t seem to focus on spiritual matters, and they had hard font to read. Volume 2 continues from age 28 to Whitefield's death at age 56.
